Soprano Andreea Novac is born in Bucharest, Romania, and attended the “Mihai Viteazu” National College, the Academy of Economic Studies, and the National University of Music in Bucharest.

She started studying singing with the regretted soprano Mariana Stoica and followed the Master in Musical Performance at UNMB in the class of Prof. Dr. Cristina Șoreanu.

She is the laureate of the Hariclea Darclée International Singing Competition, of the Romanian Lied Interpretation Competition, of the Mihail Jora Competition, and of the Paul Constantinescu Competition.

The soprano role in “Moșii” cantata, by Adrian Iorgulescu, gave her the first meeting with the stage of the Bucharest National Opera, during SIMN 2011 (New Music International Week). In 2015 she debuted in the role of Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel by E. Humperdinck. More role debuts followed in Nabucco, Aida, Carmen, Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Carlo, Suor Angelica, L’elisir d’Amore, etc.

Since then, she has been present in ONB performances, concerts, and recitals. Beginning with 2018, she is a permanent member of the ONB soloists ensemble.

In parallel, Andreea Novac collaborated with the Romanian National Opera in Cluj (Musetta – La Bohème), with the National Radio Orchestra in the Strauss 150 Concert Event (Echo – Ariadne auf Naxos, live radio broadcasted), with the Hungarian Opera in Cluj (Micaela – La tragédie de Carmen), with the Ion Dacian Operetta Theater (Rosalinde – Die Fledermaus), with the George Enescu Bucharest Philharmonic (recital of arias and duets), with the Iași Moldova Philharmonic (9th Symphony – L.v. Beethoven), with the Muntenia Târgoviște Philharmonic (Concert 7 Divas), with the Pitești Philharmonic (Stabat Mater – G.B. Pergolesi), George Enescu Museum (“Remember Anatol Vieru” recital during the Meridian International New Music Festival 2018), with the Cultural Romanian Radio (recorded show with George Enescu and Anatol Vieru music) and many others.

Future engagements include, besides the 2020-2021 Season at the Bucharest National Opera, a Beethoven Lieder evening at the George Enescu Museum this summer and a recital in the Meridian International New Music Festival 2020, with Romanian and international contemporary opera arias and Lieder.
