Recently praised by the Austrian press as a “versatile baritone” with “extremely flexible, elegant heights”, Daniel Ochoa can currently point to numerous successes. He recently made his debut in the Düsseldorf Tonhalle, Herkulessaal of the Munich Residence, Wiener Musikverein and in the Großer Festspielhaus Salzburg. In the Concertgebouw Bruges he made guest appearances with Anima Eterna and the Alte Oper Frankfurt. Daniel was also involved in a recording of Schubert’s “Winterreise” released by Coviello Classics.
He made his debut at the Elb Philharmonie Hamburg under the baton of Thomas Hengelbrock as a part of a streaming concert in 2020, and at the Musikfest Stuttgart in the Liederhalle Stuttgart under Hans-Christoph Rademannin in 2021.
Daniel Ochoa’s musical partners include Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Staatskapelle Dresden, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, Bach Collegium Stuttgart, Radiophilharmonie des Norddeutscher Rundfunks, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Radio Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, Basel Chamber Orchestra, Handel Festival Orchestra, Berlin Lautten Compagney Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Choir and many others.
He worked with conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt, Marc Piollet, Paul McCreesh, Roderich Kreile, Georg Christoph Biller, Frieder Bernius, Howard Griffiths, and Julia Jones.
From 2012 to 2017 Daniel Ochoa sang as a permanent member of the ensemble at the Vienna Volksoper, where he took on important roles in his field with Barbiere, Giovanni, Marcello, the baritone in Carmina Burana and Figaro and Wildschütz-Graf. At the Volksoper, Ochoa worked with directors such as Brigitte Fassbaender, Achim Freyer, Marco Arturo Marelli and Rolando Villazón. Opera engagements have taken the baritone to houses such as the Hamburg State Opera, the Dresden Semperoper, the Lucerne Theater, the Flensburg Theater, the Bonn Theater, the Gera / Altenburg Theater and the Goethe Theater in Bad Lauchstadt.
At the invitation of the Vokalakademie Niederösterreich, Daniel Ochoa has been giving master classes at the Melk Benedictine Abbey since 2018.
