– 1st prize, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova Recommendation prize, Mitteleuropa orchestra prize at 8th International Competition for Opera Conductor ‘L.Mancinelli’ with Verdi’s opera, Un Ballo in Maschera at Teatro L.Mancinelli di Orvieto in Italy
– 1st prize and Orchestras special prize at 13th Edition Danube Conducting Competition at Budapest, Hungary
– 1st prize and Orchestra special prize at 2nd BMI International Conducting Competition at Bucharest, Romania.
Deun Lee graduated in Piano major (under M. Silvia Rumi) and Voice major (under M. Vittorio Terranova) both at Conservatorio G.Verdi di Milano. Afterward, he graduated Voice major at Accademia Chigiana di Siena (under M. Renato Bruson), Master degree, and PSD diploma in Voice major at Mannes College in New York (under Prof. Arthur Levy). In February 2019, Deun Lee obtained a Master’s degree in Orchestra Conducting at Conservatorio G.Verdi di Milano under Maestro Vittorio Parisi with the highest mark & Summa Cum Laude.
Deun Lee conducted numerous operas and symphonic repertoire as principal conductor, including wide range of classical to contemporary repertoire including: Elisir d’amore, La Bohéme, Un Ballo in Maschera, Gianni Schicchi, Cavalleria Rusticana, Turandot, La Cambiale di Matrimonio (Festival Rossini 150), Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Don Giovanni, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Italiana in Algeri, Stravinsky’s Petrushka 1911, C.Orff’s Carmina Burana. In different places and theaters such as: Lincoln Center Bruno Walter Auditorium, The DiMenna Center, LeFrak Concert Hall, Jersey City Hall, Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall (Where he also had his Solo Tenor Recital), Teatro Mancinelli di Orvieto, Sala Verdi di Milano, Teatro Castagnoli di Scansano, Teatro Carcano di Milano, Teatro sull’acqua di Sassetta, Teatro Lirico di Magenta, Vigadó Concert Hall, Danube Palace and Palatului Cutural.
Deun Lee conducted and experienced different style and lots of professional orchestras such as Arad Philharmonic Orchestra, New York Classical Symphony orchestra, K-Radio Philharmonic orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic orchestra, Budapest MAV Symphony, Danube Symphony orchestra, Bucharest Symphony, LaVerdi orchestra, Orchestra Cupididas, Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina and Orchestra del Conservatorio di Milano. Deun Lee was selected as assistant conductor under maestro Alessandro Ferrari, for the production of Midsummer night’s dream by F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy for Sound, Music! 2019 season of Filarmonica Della Scala, which was a collaboration with Conservatrio G.Verdi of Milan, where he prepared the Orchestra del Conservatorio di Milano with Filarmonica Della Scala orchestra musicians.
He also worked as an assistant conductor at Varna State Opera for different opera productions. Deun Lee participated in masterclasses with famous conductors such as Neeme Järvi, Jorma Panula, Maurizio Arena, Maurizio Barbacini, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Riccardo Frizza, Donato Renzetti, and Daniele Agiman, where he conducted all final concerts as a best-selected participant. Deun Lee worked as a professional opera singer (tenor) and pianist, he gives regular masterclasses to singers, coaches, and collaborate pianists. Deun Lee is also the Artistic Director and orchestra conductor at the same time for Belloni Opera Festival at Teatro Antonio Belloni where he will conduct Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’Amore, Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Puccini’s La Bohème and will be invited to conduct in South Korea, Italy, Romania, and South America
