Thanks to his musicality and expressive playing, virtuosity, Ettore Scandolera belongs to the very summit of the next generation of guitarists scene.
Born in Naples in 1997, he started playing classical guitar from the age of seven followed by Maestro Roberto de Martino. In 2018 he graduated cum laude and distinction at the San Pietro a Majella Music Conservatory in Naples in the class of Maestro Vincenzo Amabile.
He is currently studying for his Master degree with Dusan Bogdanovic at the Haute école de Musique in Geneva.
In April 2018 he received a Scholarship from the Swiss Government.
From 2015 to 2018 he was a student of Maestro Aniello Desiderio attending from November 2017 the course of High Specialization held by Maestro Aniello Desiderio at the Strata Academy of Pisa receiving the “Borghini” Scholarship as the best student of the Course.
From 2014 to 2016 he has collaborated as an artist at the “VivaVerdi Multikulti di Matera” and at the “Matera 2.0 Barocco Ensemble”.
He attended various Masterclasses in Italy and abroad with Marcin Dylla, Zoran Dukic, Pavel Steidl, Judicael Perroy, Aniello Desiderio, Dusan Bogdanovic, Sergio, and Odair Assad.
In April 2017 he was selected for the award of the Premio Delle Arti, established by M.I.U.R
He holds concerts in Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Turkey.
In 2019 we will public his first CD release: Ettore Scandolera – TANGOS ET DANCES with DotGuitar record label.
Since the early years of his studies he has won prizes in National and International Competitions:
– First Prize – XVI “Niccolò Paganini” Competition – Italy
– First Prize – XXIII “Giulio Rospigliosi” Competition. Italy
– First Prize – III Amarante International Guitar Festival and Competition – Portugal
– First Prize – III “EduGuitar Program” Competition – Italy
– Finalist Award – XX International Competition “Josè Tomas” Petrer – Spain
Ettore plays an instrument built by the English guitar maker Philip Woodfield with D’Addario EJ46 Strings.
