Matteo Bagni was born in Empoli (Florence). He studies currently with Soprano Eva Mei and musical interpretation with M° Michele D’Elia.
In 2011 he obtained his Master of Music with full marks at Conservatorio “P. Mascagni” in Livorno, where he studied with M° Graziano Polidori. Then he began singing studies with Soprano Maria Billeri and improved technical voice abilities and musical interpretation with Mayumi Kuroki and Nicola Mottaran.
From 2008 till today he has improved himself in various Masterclass with Eva Mei, Michele D’Elia, Montserrat Caballé, Simone Marziali and his agency “Musikos” and the stage director Serenella Graziani. In 2019 he sang the role of ”Postiglione” (La Fanciulla del West, G. Puccini) at the Festival Puccini in Gran Teatro “G. Puccini” with conductor Gianna Fratta and with the stage direction of R. Giacchieri.
He won the prize for the role “Beppe” (Pagliacci, R. Leoncavallo) in the “Mythos Opera Festival” Competition and in February 2019 he played the role of “Le Remendado” (Carmen, G. Bizet) in Teatro Verdi in Montecatini Terme with conductor Alan Freiles in collaboration with OMEGA Music Management.
In 2018 he collaborated with “Wall Records” Management of Dante Roberto Muro, with whom he played the role of“Ernesto” (Don Pasquale, G. Donizetti) with the stage director Daniele Piscopo at Teatro San Giuseppe in Torino. He worked with international Professor and Basso Theodore Coresi and the “Vox Artis” Vienna Agency, with whom he played the roles of ”Don Basilio” and “Don Curzio” (Le Nozze di Figaro, W.A.Mozart) at Teatrul de Arta in Deva (Romania) and in Festival Hunedoara Lirica (Romania).
In the same year he was “Nemorino” (L’Elisir d’Amore, G. Donizetti) in Teatro Orlando in Livorno; “Grillo” (Pinocchio, N. Valli) in Gran Teatro “G. Puccini” in Torre del Lago with the Orchestra Teatro Pucciniano and with Mezzosoprano Irene Molinari and the Tenor Roberto Cresca he was “Le Remendado” (Carmen , G. Bizet) in Villa Medicea “La Ferdinanda” in Artimino (Prato) with the conductor Alan Freiles.
In 2016 he has his debut in Teatro Goldoni in Livorno with the role “Grillo” (Pinocchio, N. Valli) with conductor Jacopo Sipari, stage director Renato Bonajuto, and the Festival Pucciniano Orchestra and in 2017 in Gran Teatro “G. Puccini” in Torre del Lago with the same opera. In 2014 he won the European scholarship “Working with the Music” and he moved to Vienna till 2016 where he participated in some lessons at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst with Prof. Martin Vacha (Singing), conductor Christoph Meier and pianist Masaaki Saito (Musical Interpretation). Currently, he goes often to Vienna to improve his abilities with conductor Alessandro Pagliazzi and Prof. Niels Muus.
During his stay in Vienna he sang in opera and sacred music concerts in Auditorium GÖD , in Pfarrkirche St. Thekla, in Festsaal Bezirksmuseum Josefstadt and at italienischen Kulturverein “Dante Alighieri” Gesellschaft.
From 2005 till 2018 he sang in various opera, operette and sacre music concerts and he took part in various shows in Italy and abroad : Don Pasquale by G. Donizetti (Ernesto), Le Nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart (Don Basilio und Don Curzio); Il Filosofo di Campagna by B. Galoppi (Rinaldo); La Cenerentola by G. Rossini (Principe Ramiro) ; Il Matrimonio Segreto by D. Cimarosa (Paolino); La Finta Semplice by W.A.Mozart (Fracasso e Don Polidoro); L’Elisir d’Amore by G. Donizetti (Nemorino); Sì by P. Mascagni (Cleo de Merodé); Pinocchio by Natalia Valli (il Grillo); Carmen by G. Bizet (Le Remendado).
During this period he sang in various theatres and festivals in Italy and abroad: Gran Teatro “G. Puccini” in Torre del Lago; Teatrul de Arta in Deva (Romania) ; Festival Hunedoara Lirica (Romania); Festsaal Bezirksmuseum Josefstadt (Vienna), Pfarrkirche St. Thekla (Vienna), Teatro Politeama (Prato) Teatro Goldoni (Livorno); Teatro S. Giuseppe (Torino) Palazzo Reale (Pisa) ; Villa Trossi (Livorno); Villa Medicea “La Ferdinanda” in Artimino (Prato); Teatro Orlando (Livorno); Festival della Musica in Grosseto und San Miniato (Firenze).
In addition he collaborates with famous singers, stage directors and conductors: Gianna Fratta, Jacopo Sipari, Theodore Coresi, Renzo Giacchieri, Daniele Piscopo, Renato Banajuto, Isabella Isidori, Serenella Graziani, Angelo Pertini, Mauro Roveri, Fulvio Creux, Alan Freiles, Alessandro Bertolotti, Fabrizio Buricchi, Laura Brioli, Chiara Mariani, Flavio Fiorini. Thanks to his language knowledge in his repertoire there are italian, french and german musicians: G.F. Händel, J.S. Bach, C.W.Gluck, B.Galuppi, D.Cimarosa, W.A.Mozart, G.Rossini, G.Donizetti, V.
