Solvejg Sulamith Wilding– born in 1998 in Winterthur Switzerland- began taking
violin classes at the age of five. Later she studied with Jens Lohmann at the
Konservatorium Zürich.
Solveig reached seven times the finals of the Swiss Youth Music Competition
(SJMW) and received there soloistic and with chamber music several prices- 2 first,
4 second and 1 third and in 2011 also a special price for the best interpretation of a
work by a Swiss composer.
She‘s performed with several orchestras; for example with the Izmir State
Symphony Orchestra the Mozart Concerto No 5 in October 2017 and the orchestra
Nota Bene the Brahms concerto in January 2018.
She‘s performed in halls such as the Musikverein Vienna, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg,
the Tonhalle Zurich and the Stadthaus Winterthur as a soloist.
Solveig has plenty of experience in chamber music and also participates since age
six regularly in various orchestras; she was for example concertmaster of the
orchestra Stringendo Zurich.
She regularly takes part in Masterclasses where she had the opportunity to work
with Zakhar Bron, Igor Ozim, Shlomo Mintz, Igor Volochine, Vadim Gluzman and
Krzysztof Wegrzyn.
Solvejg was studying with Pavel Vernikov at the Haute École de Musique de
Lausanne and is currently continuing her studies at Musik und
Kunstprivatuniversität of Vienna with Boris Brovtsyn.
She plays a Giuseppe Gagliano.
